Breed Standard
Egyptian Maus are the only naturally spotted domestic cat. They are an elegant medium-size at 6-14 pounds, males tend to be larger than females. Their spot patterns are unique to each cat on either a silver, bronze, or smoke coat. They have an 'M' marking on the forehead, and almond-shaped gooseberry-green eyes .
History
An ancient breed of silver and spots that will melt your heart, the Egyptian Mau was depicted on Egyptian temple walls over 3,000 years ago, the modern Mau was revived in the 1950s by exiled Russian princess Nathalie Troubetskoy. Cherished worldwide, they remain one of the rarest and oldest natural breeds.
Temperment
Fiercely loyal and deeply bonded to their families. Maus are intelligent and athletic — in fact, they are the fastest domestic cat, clocked at up to 30 mph. They are talkative in a soft chirpy voice, and often reserved with strangers but adoring with their people. Ours enjoy cat wheels!
CFA Registered
All of our Egyptian Maus are registered with the CFA (Cat Fanciers' Association) and TICA (The International Cat Association). Kittens will only be CFA registered at this time.
